The late matriarchs of the Vitale-Pernice wing of our family - my mother, Mae Mae Shoemaker AKA Mary Josephine Incagnoli nee Vitale & next door neighbor Mary "Mimi" Vitale. Circa 1987; my mother Mae Mae is trying to play my answering machine message for my Aunt Mimi, who had married my Mom's brother Arnie & moved into the house my mother's family had lived in. This created a life-long aura of mild confusion for mailmen and gossips as the rather-flashy-&-racy once-Mary Vitale at 23 Jeffries St. [my Mom] and the very religious, un-flashy now-Mary Vitale at 25 Jeffries St.'s orbits crossed. I've always been blessed by a wonderful family ... but then, did I mention my parent's names were Mary & Joseph? ;-)
