This is a catalogue in Adobe Acrobat format of the exhibit "Beauty Thru Radiation: Black Light Art by Joe Harvard" held between Dec. 17, 2016 and Jan. 15, 2017 at art629 Gallery, in Asbury Park, NJ. The show featured Day-glo painted, found-object "trash art" created for an outdoor community garden and black light art gallery known as the gARTen @ 713 Cookman, and included select work by fellow gARTen curator Mark Davis.
The gARTen @ 713 Cookman was established in a vacant lot in Downtown Asbury Park, NJ by volunteer curator-gardeners Joe Harvard, Mark Davis and Mallory Massara. We receive no funding, are neither for- nor non-profit, just a direct action community experiment. We use the lot through the courtesy of owners Sackman, NJ on the condition that we carry insurance during the months we open to the public.
This catalogue helps support our efforts to keep plastic bottles out of the dumps and dolphins and proactively transform the negatives we find [street trash, un-recycled plastic in garbage cans and lots] into something that the community can enjoy.
