about

Recorded for WERS Local Music Week Feb 27, 2009. Jersey Shore multi-instrumental phenom Mike Noordzy [Moth Guts, MN's Honky Tonkin'] sounds so good you'd never guess he arrived on the $10 Chinatown bus from NYC [which was running late] & walked in as tape had already started rolling on the sound check, thereby ruining our plan to run the tunes, which he only knew from live shows we'd shared a bill on. Indeed, Mike & I had never played my songs together before. That's why I call the key on "Rummage Sale."
My two-foot 'frum' chops were only just developing & awaited a spring, 2012 daily Asbury Park Boardwalk busking regimen to pull them together, so I deemed it wise to leave the foot-snare behind and just use the suitcase kick drum. As it was I only used it on "Rummage Sale" because "Can't Opener" was too new to have a part for & "Roll On" was a lap steel tune. At the time I was unable to play lap steel and foot drum simultaneously due to balance issues ... now I generally use a stand instead of my lap for the steel, freeing the knees to help push those pedals.
